The work of Luis Gomez put on stage “power relations”. He unfolds an itinerary that explores the conventions used by traditional analysis of the productions of meanings and thought processes; which reveal frequent tensions between the real and the western “canon”. In this way he highlights the vices performed by hegemonic categorizations and translations that often distort the true source codes. His proposal talks about the stereotypes that have governed the appreciation of cultural practices that are not generated from the known institutionalized power systems, the understanding of which are ruled by the ignorance and prejudice.

He has participated in several Art Residences from institutions like the Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, EUA, the Europe University of Madrid and The Ohio State University, Ohio, EUA. His work is part of different collections such as the Ludwig Forum, Aachen, Germany, the Arizona State University Art Museum, EUA, the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, EUA, the NINART, Mexico City, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, the Van Reekum Museum Apeldoorn, Holand and the Wakita Museum of Art, Japan.
