Pablo Patrucco
Was born in Lima at 1975, he has adopted as his tool the American Hyperrealism of the 70´s. His paintings attempt to capture the reality and to decipher what is not possible to see by sight alone, suggesting to the viewer the need to read between the lines. In his representation of the city of Lima he selects unusual and contrasting targets such as garbage, public transport, the crowd, consumer products, pre-colombian artefacts and some icons of popular culture. Paintings such as Santos, Huacos Retrato and Cupisnique refer to the processes of accumulation, commercialisation, trivialisation in our society and the abandonment of history.
